Matt and Erin's story
If you are reading this, then you may be considering adoption.
We were so nervous to begin the adoption process.  We didn't know where to begin. Do we do a private adoption or go with an agency? We knew a family that adopted many years earlier. We talked to them and they gave us the name of the agency the adopted with...Adoption Support Center.  We gave them a call and knew that is where we belonged. The staff at the agency were so friendly and made us feel so comfortable. They answered all our questions honestly. We immediately began the process and within 2 months we had the call we had been waiting for.

One Monday evening, we received a call from ASC saying we had been chosen for a 9 month old boy. All that the case worker knew was what his paternal birth grandparents told her...that he was a "cute blonde haired, blue eyed boy". He was living with the grandparents and they wanted to meet us the next morning. We enthusiastically agreed and went to meet him Tuesday morning.  We instantly fell in love with him.

The grandparents apologized that he was a toddler and that he wasn't a newborn when he was placed for adoption.  That was never a concern with us. We had no doubts that he was supposed to be our son. We discussed many things like how he would be raised and if they wanted visits after the adoption. They decided that it would be too hard for them to see him but they did want letters and pictures. We left their house nervous, knowing the birth parents had to sign the papers for the adoption to take place. They were not interested in meeting us and left the decision up to the grandparents. Later that day, we received the call that they had signed the papers and we were told to "come and get your son". We were so excited!

Two years later we began the adoption process again with the hopes that we would adopt another toddler. During that time, I became pregnant and gave birth to a healthy little girl who looks unbelievably like her older brother.
We have been blessed.
We are, once again, talking about beginning the adoption process.
